I cannot ascertain why Commander Hastings received no increase in Salary: £178)-8250=8900-7-7
Subsequent Paper.
Hastings' post did not receive a rise, but his present Salary is $3000 per annum.
I have done badly, he does not seem to be doing well (see Mr Lucas's private note on 266287).
He has already been noted for promotion should an opportunity recur, & as I hope a change may come shortly, he seems a good officer.
